SJH FOUNDATION WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

VINELAND, NJ, March 19, 2009 – The South Jersey Healthcare (SJH) Foundation recently introduced three newly-appointed members of its Board of Directors – Emily Abeledo-Adams, Edward Bethea and David Hemple.Each of the new members has a history of community service for various charities and organizations in South Jersey, making them welcome additions that will help us to ensure the advancement of healthcare in the region.

"It is exciting to welcome new members to the SJH Foundation family," said Carolyn Heckman, Executive Director of the SJH Foundation. "We need the enthusiasm and experience of individuals like Emily, Ed and Dave to enable us to continue our mission of providing financial resources to South Jersey Healthcare that support the delivery of quality healthcare."

Emily Abeledo-Adams is a funeral director with Adams Funeral Homes in Penns Grove and Elmer. She is a trustee of the Salem Health and Wellness Foundation, Chairperson of the Grant Making Committee, an ambassador for the Salem County Chamber of Commerce and has served numerous community and volunteer organizations throughout the years.

Edward Bethea is Senior Vice President and COO of Tri-County Community Action Partnership which houses more than 110 programs under one roof working to help residents improve their quality of life and promote self sufficiency. He is former Treasurer and lifetime member of the Greater Vineland branch of the NAACP, President of the Bridgeton Main Street Association Board of Directors, and a member of the Cumberland County Planning Board, Cumberland County Empowerment Zone and South Jersey Economic Development District. He is also a member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton.

David Hemple, President and CEO of Century Savings Bank, is a member of the CEO Group of Cumberland County and the Bridgeton and Vineland Area Chambers of Commerce. He is also Director of New Jersey Banker's Board of Governors and is Treasurer of the Woodruff United Methodist Church.

The South Jersey Healthcare Foundation is the fundraising entity of South Jersey Healthcare, a premiere healthcare provider in southern New Jersey with hospitals in Vineland and Elmer and a regional cancer center in Vineland. The Foundation is dedicated to establishing renewable financial resources that provide dollars for needed programs and services, to purchase new equipment and technology and to ensure the continued growth of an endowment fund for the support of South Jersey Healthcare.
