SJH AUXILIARY PLEDGES $25K TO SJH FRANK & EDITH SCARPA REGIONAL CANCER PAVILION

VINELAND, NJ (Sep 27, 2010)— The South Jersey Healthcare (SJH) Auxiliary announced a pledge of $25,000 to the Frank and Edith Scarpa Regional Cancer Pavilion at their annual meeting on September 22.  The presentation was made to Chet Kaletkowski, President and CEO of South Jersey Healthcare, by Lynn Crescenzo, Chair of the SJH Auxiliary.  With this pledge, the SJH Auxiliary has chosen to name the Medical Outpatient Waiting Area on the 2nd floor of the Cancer Pavilion.  The donation will be used to help ensure quality cancer care for the region.

“We are extremely pleased to see the SJH Auxiliary maturing and helping to make a difference in enhancing cancer care in our region,” said Carolyn Heckman, Executive Director of the SJH Foundation.

In total, the SJH Auxiliary has pledged $24,500 to the SJH Foundation this year.  The money raised contributes to the quality of patient care at South Jersey Healthcare medical facilities.  The Auxiliary raises dollars through annual fundraising activities, such as the annual Raffle, Princess Party and Snacktime with Santa; book, jewelry, uniform and handbag sales; and other community events.  Many auxiliary members volunteer numerous hours a year to raise funds.

“The SJH Auxiliary is extremely proud to make this pledge to support the excellent care provided at the new Frank & Edith Scarpa Regional Cancer Pavilion,” said Crescenzo.  “This pledge, in addition to the funds we raise annually for the SJH Foundation, allows us to make a difference and help to assure quality health care in our area for generations to come.”
