ELMER -- Officials from the South Jersey Healthcare system were scheduled to gather on the grounds of Elmer Hospital here Monday for a ground-breaking ceremony to mark a major expansion/renovation project at the facility.

SJH officials say to meet the increasing demand for emergency services in our region, SJH-Elmer Hospital will more than double the size of its ER from 4,975 to more than 10,000 square feet at a cost of $4.4 million.

The completed unit will feature 16 new private patient bays equipped with the latest equipment.
