Over 450 guests celebrated an evening in Philadelphia at the 2010 South Jersey Healthcare (SJH) Foundation “Cruise the Night Away” Ball held at Loews Philadelphia Hotel on May 1. The SJH Medical Staff was the Evening Host and Ball Co-chairmen were Dr. Sanjay Bhendwal, Dr. Alan Cohen, Dr. Michael Dovnarsky, Dr. Dr. Donald C. Huston Jr., Dr. Maurice Sheetz and Dr. David M. Wanalista. The Ball included cocktails, dining and dancing featuring Purple Reign. All proceeds from the event support South Jersey Healthcare.

“The Annual Ball is the perfect opportunity for Foundation supporters, the SJH staff, physicians, area businesses and community members to come together in an effort to raise much needed funds for health care in southern New Jersey and have a good time.” said Carolyn Heckman, Executive Director of the SJH Foundation. “This year, we once again had an exciting evening at a great location in the city.”

“It was an honor to serve as Co-chairman for the 2010 Ball and spend the evening with the many generous people who continually support the SJH system,” said Huston. “SJH Foundation events are always phenomenal, and this year’s Ball was no exception.”

In keeping with the “Cruise the Night Away” theme, A Holland American Line cruise certificate for two was the special door prize awarded to David Hemple of Upper Deerfield.

“South Jersey Healthcare is an excellent health care system serving South Jersey.” said Huston. “Through the efforts of the foundation and the generosity of our community, we have outstanding medical services available. It is a privilege to support this special event for SJH.”

The South Jersey Healthcare Foundation is the fundraising entity of South Jersey Healthcare, a premiere healthcare provider in southern New Jersey with hospitals in Vineland, Elmer and Bridgeton and a regional cancer center in Vineland. The Foundation is dedicated to establishing renewable financial resources that provide dollars for needed programs and services and to ensure the continued growth of an endowment fund for the support of South Jersey Healthcare.
