Nearly 500 guests celebrated an evening of “Fire and Ice” at the 2008 Ball held at Centerton Country Club in Pittsgrove Township on April 5. The “Fire and Ice” Ball featured the Melanie Rice Orchestra, performing music from Big Band and Sinatra to Motown, 70s disco and the latest hits. The SJH Medical Staff was the Evening Host and Dr. David Shields and Millville Mayor James Quinn served as Ball Co-chairmen.

The winner of the second annual Luxury Car Raffle, Walter Johnson of Vineland, was announced at the ball. The raffle is presented by the SJH Foundation and Auxiliary. An Italian designer necklace, including 72 diamonds, donated by Diamonds & Design was awarded as a door prize to Mr. and Mrs. Cosmo Giovinazzi, also of Vineland.

Net proceeds from the annual ball support the mission of the South Jersey Healthcare Foundation to establish renewable financial resources that provide dollars for needed programs and services, to purchase new equipment and technology and to ensure the continued growth of an endowment fund for the support of South Jersey Healthcare.
